Today marked the start of an exciting journey as we kicked off our New Staff Orientation Week! We are thrilled to welcome our newest members to the Isaac Team, and Day 1 was all about getting acquainted with the heart and soul of our organization.

Starting school is a significant milestone and to help prepare our incoming kindergarten students we offer our summer Jumpstart Program. This program offers hands-on learning activities while building early language, math and literacy skills. We aim to build a solid foundation for a lifelong love of learning by ultimately supporting a smooth transition to the first day of kindergarten.

Today was the first day of our Kindergarten Jumpstart Program. This program offers opportunities for incoming kindergarteners to experience social interaction and being in a classroom environment while preparing for the new school year. At Isaac, the Jumpstart Program is here to make this journey as exciting and smooth as possible for our learners prior to the first day of school.

Isaac Leaders continue to engage in the work of continuous improvement. The specific framework used is the School Improvement Bernhardt Model. We appreciate our leaders' commitment.

The APS Community Tree Program will be providing trees to our schools to help provide shade and cooler spaces on our campuses for our students. In collaboration with the Arizona Sustainability Alliance, our students and staff have already started the planning process with identifying the best locations for the trees. We look forward to this ongoing partnership for our community.

Thank you to our staff for ensuring our students continue learning and developing academic skills throughout the ISD Summer School Program.

Isaac Leaders met to review district initiatives and determine goals and timelines for next year. Participants worked in small groups to review each priority and identify the frequency and plan for a successful outcome. The work also evolved heavily on ensuring alignment among endeavors to ensure the work supports our efforts of continuous improvement.

Tonight’s ISD Governing Board provided an opportunity for the Isaac Community to learn more about the National Board Certification Process. The meeting also provided updates on the Title IX Procedures and systems in place. Congratulations were in order for Ms. Yolanda Poullard who will serve as the Assistant Principal for PDS and Ms. Marcela Lopez who will serve as Director of Family and Community Programs. A special note of appreciation for the commitment and guidance that Dr. Erica Avila, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning, has provided to our Isaac Community over the years, we wish her the best in her future endeavors. This was the final board meeting for the 22-23 school year, we look forward to a new school year and the great things to come at Isaac!

As an action of gratitude our Superintendent and ISD Governing Board served our Cafeteria Managers dinner to celebrate and thank them for their ongoing support in serving amazing meals for our Isaac Community. We are beyond grateful for our dedicated Isaac Food Services Department. Thank you for your willingness to go above and beyond for our staff and students.
