This morning, we kicked off our Community Tree Planting for our schools. This initiative involves our commitment to environmental sustainability, heat advisory mitigation, and community well-being. Thanks to the generous support from APS through their Community Tree Program and in partnership with Arizona Sustainability Alliance, we have been granted the opportunity to plant 28 trees today at Isaac Middle School. We appreciate the support of the City of Phoenix and the American Recovery Plan Act. This marks the first planting, the rest of the school sites to follow. Various factors were taken into account such as the low tree equity score in the area and proximity of the sites. This initiative aims to enhance our environment, promote shade and cooling, and foster a sense of community and environmental stewardship among our students, families, and Isaac Community.

The Isaac School District was honored to welcome and host a delegation from the Multicultural Student Achievement Network (MSAN). Superintendents and esteemed leaders from this organization visited four of our sites, generously offering invaluable feedback allowing us to gain fresh perspectives and insights. Our district leaders also had the privilege of showcasing our incredible initiatives, ranging from our relentless focus on academic excellence and the well-being of both students and staff to our ongoing commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). We look forward to continued collaboration and growth toward educational equity and excellence.
