Dear Zito Families,

As always, the safety of your children is our first priority. We believe it is very important to keep our community informed of current events on our campus and would like to make you aware of two separate incidents that took place earlier today.

First, we received a report that an airsoft gun (also known as a BB gun) was brought to our school campus. The school administration acted quickly to ensure the safety of all students while the validity of the report was established. Second, we became aware of a separate incident involving a post of a toy gun shared on Snapchat. Both matters were addressed with the seriousness they deserve, and appropriate disciplinary actions have been taken. Our goal is to ensure you receive accurate information and dispel any rumors you may have heard about these incidents.

In light of these events, it’s important to acknowledge a concerning nationwide trend of false threats and unsafe behavior being shared on social media. We strongly encourage all parents to speak with their children about the responsible use of digital platforms and the importance of practicing good digital citizenship. Conversations about how online actions can have real-world consequences are crucial in keeping our school environment safe.

We also ask for your help in addressing the important issue of student safety. Please take a moment to review our school safety policies in the Isaac School District Parent/Student Handbook with your child.

We value the relationships and communication we have with our families. If you have any further questions, please contact us 602-442-2500.

Thank you for your support and assistance in keeping our campus safe for children and staff.

Ms. Laura Couret de Gentile

Principal
