This week Isaac Preschool's Social Worker Eric began a series on social skills to present in each classroom throughout the semester. This week's lesson focused on identifying different emotions. You can ask your student if they remember what any of the emotions they learned were or even ask if they remember the color associated with each one. We are so excited for our students to have this opportunity!
Esta semana, Eric, el trabajador social de Isaac Preschool, comenzó una serie sobre habilidades sociales para presentar en cada salón de clases durante el semestre. This week the Isaac Preschool had their first bus evacuation. Each class learned how to safely get on the bus, where safety features are located on the bus, and practiced a quick evacuation out of the front of the bus. There will be one more bus evacuation this year in the spring, where the students will evacuate from a different emergency exit.
Esta semana el preescolar Isaac tuvo su primera evacuaciĂłn de autobĂşs. Cada clase aprendiĂł cĂłmo subir al autobĂşs de manera segura, dĂłnde están ubicadas las caracterĂsticas de seguridad en el autobĂşs y practicaron una evacuaciĂłn rápida desde la parte delantera del autobĂşs. Habrá una evacuaciĂłn más en autobĂşs este año en la primavera, donde los estudiantes evacuarán por una salida de emergencia diferente.
We have some exciting news!!! A new classroom at Isaac Preschool will be opening up on Monday!! Room 9 with Teacher Cheri and Teacher Dora. We cannot wait to meet our new students! If you have already registered for this class and will be starting on Monday, please stop by the office to check in before your first day! We do have a few open spots left in some classrooms, so if you have any friends or family who are looking for preschool for their little ones, please spread the word!!

If you have not been inside the school in a little while, you probably haven't seen the picture day fliers that were posted. We just wanted to give all families a little heads up for this exciting day coming up on September 16th and 17h! Uniforms will not be required for the day your student's class has photos. Picture day will be split up into 2 days to allow enough time to fit all classrooms in. We will be sending fliers home soon with your student's assigned day.

Our parents from A Stepping Stone attended their first parenting class series today: Kindergarten Bootcamp hosted by the Phoenix Library. Everyone had a blast, singing, moving, and practicing school readiness skills together.

Hispanic Heritage Month is approaching and Isaac Preschool can't wait to honor the culture and traditions of the students we serve, and the community that we are a part of. The definition of heritage is, valued objects and qualities such as cultural traditions, that have been passed down from previous generations. Our heritage is a large portion of what makes us who we are, and that is something to celebrate! Speaking of celebrating, here is one fun early childhood figure to recognize for their contributions to Hispanic heritage.
Sonia Manzano: For over 40 years, actress and scriptwriter Sonia Manzano entertained and educated young children through her portrayal of Maria on “Sesame Street.” Her contributions to the show as a writer awarded her 15 Emmys, along with a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Our students have had a blast playing in the indoor playground during the first month of school while we waited for the temperatures to work their way down. Now that the temperatures are trending in the right direction, regular outdoor playtime is in our near future and we cannot wait!! Please remember to send a water bottle (labeled with their name) with your student every day, and to apply sunscreen before leaving the house, as we cannot apply it at school. We can't wait to see our students' large motor muscles develop and shine as we soak up all the benefits of the fresh air outdoors very soon!!
Nuestros estudiantes se divirtieron muchĂsimo jugando en el patio interior durante el primer mes de clases mientras esperábamos que las temperaturas bajaran. Ahora que las temperaturas están en la direcciĂłn correcta, ¡¡el tiempo de juego regular al aire libre está en nuestro futuro cercano y no podemos esperar!! Por favor recuerde enviar una botella de agua (etiquetada con su nombre) con su estudiante todos los dĂas y aplicar protector solar antes de salir de casa, ya que no podemos aplicarlo en la escuela. ¡Estamos ansiosos por ver cĂłmo los mĂşsculos motores grandes de nuestros estudiantes se desarrollan y brillan mientras disfrutamos de todos los beneficios del aire fresco al aire libre muy pronto!

Hello Isaac Families, just a reminder that Thursday August 29th is a Data Day where our staff will be collaboratively reviewing student data and academic goals. There will be no school for students on this day. Students will return on Friday, August 30th.
