FresH Fruit & Vegetable Program

The Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program (FFVP) is a grant that provides free fresh fruits and vegetables to students at elementary schools during the school day. The program is intended to introduce students to a variety of produce and provide education opportunities. We are excited to announce the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) has selected the following schools to participate in the Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program. The following schools have been awarded this grant:

  • Alta E. Butler

  • Esperanza

  • J.B. Sutton

  • Joseph Zito

  • Mitchell

  • Moya

  • P.T. Coe

  • Pueblo Del Sol

The goal of the Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program (FFVP) is to:

  • Create healthier school environments by providing healthier food choices

  • Expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience

  • Encourage students to consume more fruits and vegetables

  • Make a difference in children’s diets to impact their present and future health.

Nutrition Curriculum

As we strive to provide our students with nutritious and delicious fresh fruits and vegetables, we also believe it is essential to continue the learning and education about healthy choice options. All families have access to the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program Nutrition Curriculum along with monthly snack calendar menus.
