I am delighted to welcome you and your children back to Sutton Elementary for another exciting year of learning and growth. We have exciting plans and initiatives in place to enhance the educational experience, including innovative programs, engaging activities, and opportunities for parent involvement.

Ms. Shanin Newman has been in the field of education for over 20 years.  Graduating from ASU (Go Devils) in 2002, she continued her education to get her Master's degree from NAU (Go Lumberjacks) in Elementary Education with an emphasis in reading instruction and another Master's degree in Education Administration.  Ms. Newman has taught grades Kindergarten through 8th grade, been an academic coach, district academic coach, and continued her journey as an Assistant Principal, TOSA at PT Coe Elementary School, and now TOSA at J.B. Sutton Elementary. 

Ms. Newman became an educator to enrich the lives of ALL students. Her philosophy is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is her desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. 

Ms. Newman has 3 children, Krys (wife Sabrina), Layne, and Morgyn (Husband Dustin), and one granddaughter, Vivienne. She enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, hiking, and going to Disneyland.
